Annunciate le nomination ai 41° Film Independent Spirit Awards che, come riportato da AwardsWatch, vedono Peter Hujar’s Day di Ira Sachs dominare con cinque candidature, tra cui Miglior Film e Miglior Regia, oltre ai riconoscimenti per Ben Whishaw e Rebecca Hall. Il film guida una selezione che include anche titoli molto presenti come Lurker, Blue Sun Palace, Train Dreams e Sorry, Baby.
Tra i candidati al Miglior Film compaiono The Plague, Train Dreams, Twinless e Sorry, Baby, confermando la tradizione degli Spirit Awards di anticipare film destinati a lasciare il segno nella stagione dei premi. Accanto a Sachs, in regia, sono nominati Clint Bentley, Mary Bronstein, Lloyd Lee Choi ed Eva Victor. Il Premio Robert Altman va a The Long Walk.

I comitati di selezione hanno valutato opere da 18 paesi, privilegiando originalità e inclusione. La cerimonia, sostenuta da partner come Lavazza Coffee e IMDbPro, si terrà il 15 febbraio 2026 all’Hollywood Palladium, abbandonando per la prima volta la tradizionale location di Santa Monica.
