Emmy Awards 2026: annunciati i vincitori della 78esima edizione

Record, prime volte e ritorni inattesi segnano la 78ª notte degli Emmy, tra Widow’s Bay, doppietta di Matthew Rhys e sorprese.

È stata una serata di record, sorprese e grandi ritorni quella della 78ª edizione dei Primetime Emmy Awards. A dominare è stata Widow’s Bay, con 14 premi tra Primetime e Creative Arts Emmy Awards, un nuovo record per una serie al debutto dopo quello stabilito lo scorso anno da The Studio. La serie di Katie Dippold ha conquistato i principali premi della commedia, dalla Miglior serie alla sceneggiatura e alla regia, fino alle tre categorie di recitazione con Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root e Kate O’Flynn.

Il successo di Widow’s Bay ha portato anche un primato per Hiro Murai, primo regista asiatico a vincere l’Emmy per la Miglior regia in una serie comica. Protagonista di un’altra pagina storica è stato Matthew Rhys, autore di una doppietta come attore protagonista grazie a Widow’s Bay e The Beast in Me.

Tra gli altri risultati della serata spiccano l’ottavo Emmy di Jean Smart, la vittoria di Allison Janney per The Diplomat e il terzo successo consecutivo di The Traitors. The Pitt ha chiuso con sette premi su 25 nomination, mentre Pluribus ha regalato a Rhea Seehorn il suo primo Emmy. Con sette riconoscimenti, DTF St. Louis è stata invece la miniserie più premiata.

Non sono mancati gli omaggi a Rob Reiner, Catherine O’Hara e Dolly Parton. La cerimonia, condotta da Mariska Hargitay, ha visto infine The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aggiudicarsi il premio come Miglior serie di varietà nell’ultima stagione del programma.
