Sono stati annunciati i vincitori degli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023, il cui show è stato trasmesso con una versione pre-registrata
Sono stati assegnati i riconoscimenti degli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023. L’evento che ha inevitabilmente risentito dello sciopero degli sceneggiatori, per solidarietà nei confronti dei colleghi infatti Drew Barrymore non ha presentato l’edizione, così molte altre star, spingendo di conseguenza la Paramount a rinunciare alla diretta e sostituirla con versione pre-registrata dello show.
A trionfare The Last of Us, che porta a casa i premi come Best Show, Best Hero a Pedro Pascal, e Best Duo, a Pedro Pascal e Bella Ramsey. Mentre Scream VI vince come Best Movie, e Best Fight a Gale Waethers vs Ghostface.
“Vorrei che potessimo stare tutti insieme in modo da potervi guardare negli occhi e dirvi che tutti i giovani del mondo sono i miei eroi e che non sarei qui se non fosse per voi” – ha dichiarato Pedro Pascal nell’accettare il riconoscimento. “Quando dico che meritate un mondo che soddisfi i vostri interessi, meritate di essere sani, meritate di essere al sicuro, meritate che i vostri diritti individuali siano protetti, meritate dei veri eroi in questo mondo è perché siete dei veri eroi per me e io vi amo.”

A Jennifer Coolidge va il Comedic Genius Award e il Most Frightened Performance. Jenna Ortega vince nella categoria Best Performance in a Show, per la sua interpretazione nella serie Netflix Mercoledì, e Tom Cruise invece il Best Performance in a Movie per Top Gun: Maverick.
