One Battle After Another e Sinners sono tra i vincitori della 76esima edizione dei Writers Guild of America Awards.
Domenica a New York sono stati annunciati i vincitori della 76ª edizione dei Writers Guild of America Awards, con i favoriti agli Oscar One Battle After Another e Sinners premiati nelle principali categorie cinematografiche.
Paul Thomas Anderson ha vinto il premio per la migliore sceneggiatura non originale con One Battle After Another, dopo aver già conquistato BAFTA, Critics Choice, USC Scripter e Golden Globe. È il primo sceneggiatore, come riportato da AwardsWatch, dai tempi di Aaron Sorkin con The Social Network (2010) a vincere tutti i principali premi per una sceneggiatura non originale.
Il premio per la migliore sceneggiatura originale è andato invece a Ryan Coogler per Sinners, al suo primo successo ai WGA dopo tre nomination. Entrambi i film sono candidati agli Oscar nelle rispettive categorie.
In televisione ha trionfato The Pitt, che ha vinto Serie Drammatica, Nuova Serie ed Episodio Drammatico per “7:00 A.M.”. The Studio ha conquistato il premio per Serie Comedy, mentre a sorpresa The Righteous Gemstones ha vinto Commedia a Episodi con “Prelude”. Pluribus, che guidava le nomination televisive con quattro candidature, è rimasta senza premi.
