La Washington DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) ha svelato i suoi vincitori, incoronando American Fiction come Miglior Lungometraggio del 2023, e assegnando anche al film di Cord Jefferson il riconoscimento per la Miglior Sceneggiatura Adattata.
Ma il grande vincitore di questa edizione è stato Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan che porta a casa sei premi inclusi quelli per il Miglior Regista, e il Miglior Attore a Cillian Murphy. Lily Gladstone è stata nominata Migliore Attrice per Killers of the Flower Moon, mentre i Miglior Attori non Protagonisti sono Charles Melton per May December e Da’Vine Joy Randolph per The Holdovers.
